DCM-Beady Eyed

This weeks dare was set by Saffa....Well this week is my dare (Saffa). Its quite a simple challenge really. All I ask is that you make use of beads on your cards. They can be seed beads, big chunky beads or little sequins, whatever takes your fancy.
Well I've cheated a bit because I had already made these ones (sorry) I'll try to make another for the dare. I wanted to show these because I used seed beads and ordinary beads for them. I even used beads in the matching cushion in the background so I thought these would be quite fitting for the dare.

DCM-Tagged

This weeks dare was set by Rhi, she said;
Everything we buy has packaging, some of it excessive, some of it beautifully designed. Tags, labels, stickers... all sorts of bits and bobs that we can recycle onto cards.I dare you to make a card using a tag, label, sticker or anything else you can find, thats from packaging and would normally end up in the bin. Of course you can ink it, change it, distress it and add anything else you like!

Well, I kept the idea in the back of my mind and kept my eye open for useful packaging. Low and behold as I was putting in my disposable contact lenses in this morning the plastic packaging cried out to me; 'make me into baloons they called', so I did and here is the result, hope you like it.
The double dare was to make it into a card for a man, I don't think i quite achieved that but a boy would love it and he'll be a man one day!

DCM-You're not the (em)boss of me!

This weeks DCM challenge was set by Lythan....As a reward - and as I was so strict last time I set a dare - here is a nice broad theme to get your creative juices flowing.
Embossing.Dry embossing with a light box or with a die cutting machine.Using embossing powders or triple embossing.Using pre-embossed papers.Embossing with found items.Just have fun playing!

I decided to do a bit of heat embossing for my card, i'm afraid it doesn't show up very well on the photo. I stamped the word thanks and heat embossed it in gold. I also did some doodling down the side and on the envelope with an embossing pen and then heat emossed that in gold too.

DCM- Celestial

This weeks challenge was set by Keryn, she said; 'This time I asked my family for ideas for this weeks dare and the best amongst a lot of ideas including power tools etc, etc was Lachlan's ideas for Space. It's been his topic at school this term. (Lachlan is seven and in Year 3). To make in a little easier on you all I've called it Celestial to also include horoscopes as well as planets, spaceships, stars, suns etc. How you use these items is up to you.'

I knew a Father's day verse that i thought would be just right for this dare. I used Basic Grey paper, warm yellow glitter card and lots of blue ribbon.

DCM- Little Extra- Not So Sticky

Gillian set this weeks little extra....
"how's about a dare where you can't use any adhesives at all...
You have to put them away...
No tape, no gluesticks, no Xyron, no modpodge.... and all other sticky things....
It's hard to see from this photo but that is a real zip. I thought it would be really easy not to use anything sticky.........I was wrong it took me all evening but I got there in the end.

DCM - I Can See Clearly Now

This weeks challenge was set by Kel, she said- Okay, this week I would like you to use some acetate, vellum, plasma or anything else remotely 'see-through' on your card. That's it!
Well, I had some Shrink Plastic that I bought years ago and never used so I took the opportunity to have a play: I cut my shrink plastic with my daisy Sizzix die, coloured the flowers and leaves in, then shrunk them. To add an extra transparent element I mounted them onto a circular acetate apperture. The rest speaks for itself. I'm quite pleased with this one, I like the colours.
Thanks Kel, for a great challenge, and getting me using my redundant stash!

CB Sketch Challenge,

I decided to make a Fathers Day card for the Crafty Bids Sketch Challenge as I don't have a Scrap book on the go at the moment. I absoloutely adore my Dad and I think this picture shows it.
