Di Hickman - Card Sketch 4

Well, I've nearly reached the end of my stay with Di Hickman and though I haven't played a very big part in visiting participants blogs due to my other commitments I really have enjoyed making my example cards. Here's this week's sketch

And here's my card ( a little dark I'm afraid - blummin English weather!)

I printed the sentiment straight onto the background paper and then went over it with glossy accents, I think it worked quite well. The star was cut on my Silhouette. Again, we have a bit of machine stitching, because I think I might be addicted!

Thank you for looking xxx

Di Hickman - Sketch#2

Hi folks,

Well it's the second week of my December stay on Di Hickman's design team and may I say that so far I've enjoyed every minute of it. I decided to use my new Bo bunny papers and stickers for this one, they really made me feel cheerful.

Here's the sketch...
Here's what I came up with.....the sketch is in there somewhere!LOL (I got a bit carried away)

The Bo Bunny Stickers did all the hard work for me and handily enough I discovered that I had a lot of the embellishments that were pictured on the stickers so I added them on top for a 3D effect. As you can see, I've done a little hand doodling too.

Have a lovely day

Di Hickman Sketch

I was such a lucky girl recently, I was chosen to be Di Hickman's guest designer for December! I love Di's work and she's been a real inspiration to me for a long time now so this is a real treat.

This is the first sketch I had to work with......
As always it's a fabulous sketch, I think you'll agree.

You know how I like to turn sketches around so I decided, instead of having hanging stars I would have some floating balloons...
I was a bit disappointed with this card and would have made another but time being what it is, it just had to do. If I did it again I think I would use coloured paper for the balloons instead of colouring them as that didn't turn out too good. Not to worry, we live and learn eh? My next sketch card is much better so I'll be back next week with pride. LOL

Thanks for having me Di xx

Two More Challenges!

Blimey what's got into me! You see this is what happens when I get a bit of time on my hands, there's just no stopping me!

For today's card I've used this week's Di Hickman sketch, to celebrate her card sketch Anniversary Di has given us her very first ever sketch to play with, it holds a special place in her heart and I can see why-It's ace!

I've combined the sketch with this week's Paper Take Weekly challenge which is to use sparkle in you card.
Here's what I came up with......

I've used BG Fruit Cake papers for this one, I don't think I'll ever go off them. The happy chappy is called Donald and he's from the new download collection at Charmed Cards and Crafts, it's called Animal Magic.

I've made him Christmassy by adding the sparkly hat and the sparkly snowflake, oh yes and the snow is made with snow writer (which I LOVE)

I hope you like it, thanks for visiting. xxxx

Di Hickman Sketch

What a beautiful day! Good morning everybody, hopefully you're all out enjoying the spring sunshine and won't read this until much later on.

Today I have my card made using the new DiHickman sketch for inspiration.

Here it is....

'Naughty Dottie' has been raiding the chocolate cupboard! Just look at the mess she's got into! She's trying to look innocent but I'm not fooled, are you?

DCM/Charmed/Di Hickman!!!

Yes you read correctly I've done a 3 in 1!

The DCM challenge was to make two cards with the same embellishments but different layout and occasion.

The Charmed and Di Hickman challenges were both sketches.
Here's what I did with the sketch from Charmed -I turned it around - of course!

Below is what I did with the Di Hickman Sketch, yes, you guessed I turned it around!

As you can see, I used the same papers and embellishments for both so that's the DCM one achieved.

All products are from the K and Company range and are available here.

Di Hickman- Card Sketch

I really love using Di's sketches, I also love to do my own slant on them, I normally turn them over but this time I've kept it the same way up and instead of the diagonal tear i've made a diagonal opening and added some bits of ribbon instead of the torn edge.
I used a cuttlebug embossing folder for the background and decorated it with the free toppers I got in quick and crafty ages ago.

DCM - Getting Corrugated - Di Hickman Sketch

I got in early this week Yeah!!!!
Here's the brief...... I seem to have developed a little bit of a fixation with old cardboard boxes....! My dare this week is to use some corrugated card on your card - it could be corrugated craft card or an old box etc. taken to pieces :) You could make the card blank from it or die cut shapes etc...
I'm not sure if i've cheated a bit because mine uses corrugated paper instead of card (oops).
I made it a double dare and used this week's Di Hickman sketch (which i've turned around).
I left it without a sentement because I just couldn't decide on one. It's always handy to have a card for any occasion.
The papers are BG Mellow, I've done some stitching in red and added some red velvet Ric Rac. Oh yes the corrugated bit........the flower and the two squares at the top.

Thanks for looking, your comments mean so much to me.

Di Hickman - October Sketch #4

Whooooo! I bet that made you jump ay? For this weeks sketch from Di Hickman I decided to make my first ever Halloween card, I don't have any Halloween papers so being the resourcful mum that I am I made do with what I had. I used plain green, yellow and reds and gave them a make over with my blending chalks, i'm really pleased with the results, it looks like Basic Grey without the Basic Grey.
Now I hear you ask, "how does my card fit the sketch?" Right, if you look at the picture where it says 'Boo' and tilt your head to the right (lol I can imagine you all tilting your heads!) Di's sketch will miraculously stare back at you!

Di Hickman Sketch

Here we are again with another sketch from Di Hickman. I've used my new Dolly Mammas stamp for this one the paprer is K&Co Hop Scotch Boy and the charm is Making Memories. Guess what.........NO RIBBON! and no BASIC GREY! And for the first time, I didn't turn the sketch around, I just lenghthened it instead (well I have to have my rebellion some how!)

Di Hickman card sketch

This is my take on the latest sketch from Di Hickman

I love her sketches, they're nice and simple but they always look good. I turned it upside down for my interpretation - why do I always do that? It must be the rebel in me!.

I used my left over scraps from my latest DT package from Leo, waste not want not

For the 3D writing I backed some mount board with paper then cut it with my one of my Cuttlebug alphabet sets, I really like the effect.

As ever, I turned it around. I've used BG paper, a white funky foam flower and my new red Ric Rac - I think i'm hooked!

Di Hickman - Card Sketch #5

This is my first time using one of Di Hickman's sketches, and i'm quite pleased with the result. At first I thought it was way too busy but it's really starting to grow on me now. I had to miss out the sentement (shown on the sketch) because I didn't think it would go well on this card (I hope that's OK Di).
Materials
Dovecraft designer paper
Dovecraft charm brad.
