Dottie's World Challenge- Geometric

We're looking for a New Guest Designer on Dottie's World this week, to be in with a chance just enter the challege as usual but BEFORE Wednesday evening. Pop over to Dottie's World for more details.

OK, so ths week's challenge was set by the lovely Adele, here's what she said;

When I first told my son that I was on the Dottie Design Team, he asked loads of questions about what I needed to do. You can now blame Jack for this week's challenge as this was all his idea...but I have stretched it a little.
Dottie goes Geometric!Jack suggested that I made a card using triangles but I am going to open up the possibilites and ask you to make creations with bold geometric shapes. This could simply be part of some patterned papers or a fancy shaped card...the choice is yours BUT I want to see some geometric shapes as a main part of your work....no cheating and telling me the brad is a circle! Don't forget it must have a Charmed download somewhere too!

So here's my example card;
Bless little George, he's trying his best to be scary, he looks like he's scared himself doesn't he? LOL. Ghostly George and his spooky friends are available to download here

I'm loving these triangular cards, you may be seeing a lot more! The papers and stickers are Hallowhimsy, take a closer look here.

Thanks for looking, have a great week.xxx

Cute Card Thursday- Food

Over at CCT they have a fab foody challenge going on, what's more they have some scrummy ribbon fo one lucky winner so be sure to drop by for a look.

I decided to go with Pudding Dottie from the Christmas download set for this one.

I did a bit of decoupage on the image for a change and even added an extra dimension to the ribbon by gathering it up and securing it with brads. I hope you like it.xxx

Dottie's World Challenge-Going Green

Karen set a a fab environmentally friendly challenge this week on Dottie's World, here's what she said.....Everything today is focused on environmental issues, so lets GO GREEN in our Sunday Challenge! Show me how green you can get! But this is a green dish with a few extra ingredients, sprinkle it with three buttons or brads, season with a little ribbon, and finally add that special little "recycled something. Plus of course it must contain at least one Charmed Cards & Crafts download".

So, of course I had to use my new invention! It's a gift bag which uses a tin can for the base. With the help of a Crop-A-Dile or a Big Shot you can easily transform cans of all sizes .

For an easy to follow class visit Charmed Cards and Crafts and while you're there check out all the new products phwawwwww!

All the papers used are K&Company Mira, those gorgeous brads are from K&Co too. The wee cat on the tag is from the Cat download collection, I love the versatility of downloads, you can have them whatever size you like!
You shpould pop over to Dottie's world to see what the design team have come up with, those girls are the best!

Dottie's World Challenge-Going for a Song

It was my turn to come up with the Dottie's World challenge this week and I decided to add a fun twist, we need a new guest designer to join us for the next two weeks so I've decided to open it up to this weeks challenge entrants!

Anyway, the challenge is to use the words from a song on your creatiion (asweel as a Charmed download)

Here's what I came up with....

The papers are Hallowhimsy and the image is Dracula George from the Halloween download collection. When you buy the Halloween downloads you get them in black and white and coloured which is handy if you're in a rush or if you don't like colouring in.

DCM-The Same But Different

I love doing challenges but my efforts have been a bit scarce recently. However! I popped over too DCM and loved their dare, here's what Kathy said;

And so to our next dare and it's me (Kathy) setting you a little challenge this time. One of the things I love about our dares is that although we all start with the same brief, the cards we produce are all so different.
So for my dare I'd like to see what happens when our starting point is the same quotation:
Use what talents you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best.
Henry Van Dyke

I've followed the theme of a card I made a while back for this one which is something I don't do much because I don't like doing the same thing twice. I made it a bit different this time but kept Birdie Dottie the same because I love her in blue.

The papers are 'Dream Street and the flowers are Primas, the image is a Dottie Download.
Thanks for looking xxx

Dotties World Challenge

As you can see from my blog I haven't had time for much blogging recently, such is life eh? One thing I HAVE managed to do though is the Dottie's World challenge which this week was set by Nicola. She wants us to add something to our creation that can be removed, such as a tag, bookmarg etc.

Here's what I came up with.....

It's a pocket card using spider Dottie from the Charmed Halloween Download Collection.

The Papers, brads, stickers and stamps are all Hallowhimsy

Thanks for looking xxxxxx

What a Discovery!

As many of you will know I'm a big fan of Prisma colour pencils (did you see my video tutorial?), many of you have asked me where I buy mine from. Well I bought my original set from a famous auction site but much of the time you're buying from the States and it's not ideal.
Anyway, I was told about a lovely gentleman in Scotland who sells them, he sells sets of 12, 24, 48 and 120. Tony is an absolute super star! he answers your email quickly and he really goes out of his way to make sure you are happy with your order. Oh yes, postage is super speedy too!

He occasionaly has single pencils that he sells in sample bags so I was able to add a few to my set. Thank you Tony!
I just had to tell you about Tony because it's not often you strike gold and I really have. If you would like to contact him for a price guide which is very good just email me and I'll get back to you with his email address.
