Dottie's World Challenge

It's a Christmas theme this week over on Dottie's World and there's a free, original image that has been made especially to be given to all the people that play along with this challenge! If the Charmed images ever become collectable this will be the one to have because you can only get it if you enter this challenge and there are no plans for it to go into a collection!

Here's my DT example card...

I love this Carol Wilson backing paper, it really makes the card. The image and the circular sentiment are from the Christmas Download collection.

Video Tutorial!

Well folks,

I can't quite believe how brave I've been this week. I did a simple Prisma video tutorial a few days ago but I used captions instead of speech. I knew it wasn't ideal and a lot of people asked for a voice next time but I was just so self conscious. Anyway in the end I took the bull by the horns and just took the plunge. I'm much happier with this second tutorial, the camera angle iss better and the spech doesn't sound too bad after all.

It's a tutorial that shows you how to make a card similar to this one that I showed recently.
I'm not showing the video on here because I made it for the Charmed Cards and Crafts online classes. If you'd like to see it this link will take you there. Here's a sneaky peek of the card I made;

Thanks for looking.

Dottie's World Challenge

Over on Dottie's World you might have noticed we have a new designer, Adele. Well she was really nervous about setting her first challenge but if you go and have a look you'll see she's an absolute natural-no need to wory at all!
Adele said.....This week I want to see a tag or tags of any shape or size. It could be tag shape toppers, gift tags, tag books....and because hubby and me have just celebrated our wedding anniversary....for an extra Dottie bonus I would love to see some hearts and flowers too!!!

Well, The new collection was launched this weekend 'Halloween' and I desperately wanted to have a play but how do you put hearts and flowers on a halloween project? I thought and I thought and I came up with a candy box with a spooky flower on and a tag with Dracula George saying "I vant to eat your candy! Ha....Ha.....Ha."

I made the decorative strip for the sides with some of the characters from the new collection, the box was a bit fiddly to make but I think it turned out ok.

The Patterned paper is from the new Imaginisce Halloween collection Hallowhimsy and I LOVE IT!

Poetic Artistry Sketch.

Wow! two posts in one day! AND I've paintedd the front of my house (with a little help from DH of corse) I don't know what's got into me!

I saw this sketch on the Poetic Artisty blog and had to have a go.
Here's what I came up with....

Dottie Clause wants in with the action, but she doesn't want boring old mince pies with her sherry on Christmas Eve she needs/wants chocolate! She's a girl after my own heart she is.
In Case you don't know by now, Dottie is available in all sorts of different outfits from Charmed Cards and Crafts.

DCM Challenge - It's a Wrap!

Oh I do love doing the DCM challenges, but just recently I'm afraid I've been having to give them a miss. Not this time though, I managed to get one done. Here's the brief...

It's a Wrap

No, not the kind stuffed with Chicken & Cesar Salad or the woolly kind you put around your shoulders to keep you warm, mind you, the way our summer is going I think we could all do with one of those!I would like you to give your card a coat made of acetate, vellum or anything for that matter. As long as it ‘wraps’ around the outside of your card, anything goes!

Well, this card took me aaaages because I was making it up as I went along, I came up with this herring bone style pocket card, I've never seen one quite like it before so who knows, I might have a new invention- probably not though, who knows.

I cut three sections which I 'wrapped' around the middle piece to create the herring bone effect.
I then made some tags which I printed and cut out via my Silhouette. The images are from the Charmed digital download -cat collection. and the papers and brad are K&Company.

It may have taken ages and it nearly went in the bin but I'm glad I persevered.

Thanks for looking.xxx

Dottie's World Challenge

Hi all, this is my first post since I got back from holiday, I've done a bit of catching up but I still have a lot to do so I'm sorry if I haven't visited you for a while.

Things are going well here, the download sales are going brilliantly-better than I ever expected but it means I'm constantly working on the next thing, I'm not complaining though!

On to the challenge. This week's challenge has been set by the wonderful Karen who has been Mrs Christmas this week, not only has she been giving away free sentiment circles on Dottie's World all week (pop over, you just need to save them) she's also got thhe most scrummy Blog Candy on her blog - YUMMY!

All we have to do for this week's challenge is use pink pink pink! and something glam like beads, charms or jewels. Here's what I came up with.......

The image is the Christmas fairy download, the paper is Imaginisce -Baby Powder on which I've glued a pink bead into each flower detail. The strip of velvet ribbon accross the top has a string of beads attached to it too. If you're wondering how this card stands up, you just need to cut a slice off the bottom at the back.

Thanks for looking.

If you have bought and used the Charmed downloads and we haven't linked to you blog on Dottie's World please let me know.

Multi Callenge-Challenge!

Hi folks,

The challenge on Dottie's World this week is just to use any of the Charmed downloads but then you have to combine it with a challenge from another blog/s.

So I've done the.....
and of course the Dottie's World Challenge
So here's what I came up with...

This card was a bit of a faff and it didn't turn out as planned but in the end I liked it.

The papers are DCWV and the images are from the Dress up Dottie downloads. I love a happy ending don't you?

Dottie's World Challenge

This week over at Dottie's world Nicola set the challenge to use a Charmed Download, ribbon, doodles and aperture/s.
I decided to use the just married car front and reverse images for this one.

The image spins around

To reveal the rear view!

I originally intended to do step by step photos and instructions for this card but it ended up being a real bu**er to make because I used mount board - the cutting literally took hours! If I do a tutorial I'll do a light weight version without the wooden cocktail sticks!

I like how these two images are exact opposites so they could be used on the front AND the inside/back of a card or like I've done with this one.

Cute Card Thursday-In the house

I'm loving these challenges at Cute Card Thursday and I always get so much inspiration from the DT's ideas.

This week the challenge is; 'in the house' which means the image has to be something to do with inside the home -self explanatory I suppose!

Here's what I've come up with....

The image is from the new Dottie and George collection (Love and Marriage) Dottiie looks like lady of the manor doesn't she? she has cretainly got George well trained.

The paper is called Hello Sunshine and it's from the Cosmo Cricket collection.
