Dottie's World- Recipe

Good Morning all,

It's Juliet's turn to set the challenge for us this week over at Dottie's World and she's come up with a cracker of a recipe for us (though I have to say, not as good as the one Holly and I followed last night to make chocolate and walnut brownies - YUM)

Here's what she said;

The challenge today is a recipe:
1 of the downloads
1 ribbon
3 buttons
1 flower, but it has to be handmade (not a shop bought one, oh no!)

I know that being the designer of the Charmed Downloads I sound like I'm blowing my own trumpet here but I am really really loving using the Back To Front images on my projects, it's such a refreshing change!

I've used Butterfly Dottie again for my project......
I kept it all very simple because I felt that Dottie had to be the main feature and I didn't want to clutter it. I cut the gift bag on my Silhouette and assembled it, did some doodled stitching around the edges, added three buttons and a punched/inked flower (understated know but I like the effect), added a big ribbon bow then last but not least added Dottie, on the front....

And on the back!

I love making the wings 3D with this image.

We're looking for a new Guest Designer this week on Dottie's World, all you have to do is join in with the challenge before Thursday evening to be in with a chance of being picked.

Have a lovely day,

Dottie's World - Tutorial Taster

I've been such a bad Blogger this week, I really must make more time for this Blog.

It was my turn to set the challenge over at Dottie's World this week. I asked everyone to combine one of the Charmed tutorials with one of the Charmed Downloads. It really is amazing how many tutorials there are on there I was surprised myself and some of them are mine! Karen sure has been busy making the site even more fabby.

Anyhow, here's what I came up with .....
The triangular card is made using this tutorial and a Girl about Town image.

And this fab icicle box was made using this tutorial .

I've been working on a new download collection this week and I'm ever so excited about it. If you haven't been over to Dottie's World you won't have met Butterfly Dottie!.....

Butterfly Dottie is from the 'Dottie and George Back to Front ' bundle which will be available to buy within the next week.

Have a lovely day,

DW Challenge - Pure and Simple

It was Adele's turn to set the challenge over on Dottie's World this week and I think she had me in mind when she came up with the title - Pure and Simple. LOL alright then she was only half right but I'll let you decide which half.

So, on with the challenge, this is what Adele said;

This week I want your creations to be PURE & SIMPLE! No patterned papers, just clean, fresh and simple. I don't want any fuss on our creations this week. You can include any Charmed download, the choice is yours!

Well I sat thinking for quite some time.

I love my patterned paper and I'm not used to going without them but in the end one of my good old CB embossing folders came to the rescue for the card base then I just wrapped it with ribbon, a flower and that teenie weenie D&G heart shaped charm you can just about see.
I know it's a bit of a dodgy close up but it gives you an idea of just how small you can make the downloads. I covered the image with clear ink and clear embossing powder then heated it up. I know I could have used glossy accents but I really like the effect you get with clear embossing powder.
To compensate for the image on the front being so tiny I decided to add thee same image inside the car but larger...
I really enjoyed this challenge and I'm really pleased with the result but I have to confess that when I was finished, like a woman starved of chocolate I rushed to my patterned papers for a play like they were made of pure Galaxy.

Caardvarks Challenge-Sketch

I haven't done a Caardvark challenge for ages so I popped over to see what the gang were up to. They are being sponsored by Studio Calico right now and the have a fabulous prize up for grabs. How could I not play?

They have this lovely pagemaps sketch from Becky Fleck for us to use...
I decided to go for a funny card for this one.....
I made a little pair of specs for Donald Donkey, it looks miles better IRL but this little close up might help.

The papers ar BG Phoebe.

Thanks for looking
